Another taken in Richmond Park last weekend when the light was stunning. I had half an hour free and so I decided to see if I could get one of our resident Robins to sit on top of the watering can. I placed a small tray of dead dried mealworms on the watering can, and after about 15 minutes the Robin came down and perched on the spout of the watering can, before hopping onto the food. This was taken in the last sunlight of the day as it streamed down the canal onto the side of this bird. Taken at Richmond Park last week. Taken yesterday evening on a golf course. The fox was crossing the course and stopped between two fairways where he saw me. Taken in London, this was during the huge snowfalls in London last December. This meant that up to 6 Bitterns could be seen at the London Wetland Centre, and they were forced out onto the ice to search for food. I was just about to leave the hide when I turned around and took this image - my favourite from the day. Another Grey Heron coming down to land This female Reed Bunting popped up on top of a fern while I was in Richmond Park. On my way into the London Wetland Centre there were over 200 Redwing feeding in the trees along the road, so I stayed in the car and waited for them to land by these berries. This was in Regent's Park last week. They are very tame there and so I lay on the ground until this one appeared. This was very tame during November as it was so cold. I lay down on the ground to throw the background and foreground out of focus, emphasising the robin. This Great-crested Grebe was fishing in a pool next to one of the boardwalks at the London Wetland Centre so I lay down on it and waited for it to come up with a fish. Luckily when it did, it was very close! While I was in one of the hides in the London Wetland Centre, someone called out that a Sparrowhawk was passing just underneath the hide. When it did, I was able to capture this image. I was sitting in a hide at the London Wetland Centre hoping for some flight shots of the ducks and geese in the evening when I heard two Canada Geese calling from my left. I soon saw them as they rose over the trees and came down towards the hide. As they landed, the were looking straight at me. Oscar Dewhurst on 500px
